Woman Attacked in Building

A 21-year-old woman reported that a man attacked her inside one of the Isaacs Houses buildings Sept. 3 at 9:15 a.m. She told police that the man followed her along the street and was lurking in a stairwell. He tried to choke her but she was able to free herself. She went to the emergency room for injuries, which included scratches to the face and having trouble speaking.

Woman Assaulted

A 39-year-old woman reported to police Aug. 20 that she was assaulted while walking on Madison Avenue near East 68th Street. She said that, at 11 p.m., a man hit her in the back of the head with his hand. She fell to the ground and, after getting up, chased the man. She told police that obscenities were yelled.

Assault for Parking

A man told police he was assaulted Aug. 4 at 5 p.m. after asking a driver if he was moving from his parking spot on East 70th Street between First and Second avenues. The driver of a 2005 black Audi asked the 19-year-old Upper East Side resident if he was a “tough guy,” then got out of his car and punched him. He tried to pull the teen out of his car and then spat on him. As he tried to get away in his car, the 19-year-old, who lived a few apartments down from the parking spot, tried to stop him by jumping on the car, but the man got away.

Road Rage

A woman says an irate driver punched her driver’s side front window while she was still inside July 21. The 27-year-old Bronx woman said that at 10:26 p.m., the driver chased her for a few blocks. The man driving cut her off and blocked her at East 81st Street and York Avenue. He exited the car and punched the window. The shattered glass cut her left arm. The driver fled north on York Avenue.

Woman Assaulted Outside of Saloon

A woman told police that another woman attacked her outside of Dorrian’s, a saloon on 1616 Second Ave. and East 84th Street, July 27. A witness told police that the 25-year-old woman was smoking with her husband outside when another woman bumped into her, seemingly intentionally. After the second time, words were exchanged between the two women. The 25-year-old woman who was smoking out front was punched in the forehead. The attacker fled south on Second Avenue and then went east on East 83rd Street.

Worst Hangover

A drunk man was hit in the head with a chair at a diner July 16 when he mouthed off to the wrong guy. At 1:45 a.m. in a diner on 1715 Second Ave. and East 89th Street, the night manager told police that a customer was drunk and loudly complaining about the service. Another customer said, “Why don’t you shut up?” The drunken man, a 24-year-old who lives on Third Avenue and East 91st Street, confronted the perturbed customer, who walloped him in the head with the seat. The man fled with a woman, but he was caught on camera and left a receipt.

City Worker Assaulted

A Department of Transportation (DOT) worker was assaulted July 20 at 11:20 p.m., according to police. The 45-year-old DOT employee, who lives in Harlem, told police he was hit with a metal pipe on the northeast corner of Second Avenue and East 65th Street. He instructed a car to get off the street and back up. The passenger got out of the car and assaulted him.

Attacked in Carl Schurz

A man was attacked, seemingly at random, while inside Carl Schurz Park July 16 at 12:15 a.m. The 41-year-old man who lives two blocks from the park was sitting on a bench near East 84th Street when he heard footsteps behind him. Before he could turn around he was hit in the head with a stick or a baseball bat. He saw several males running north through the park. No statements were made and nothing was stolen.

Late Night Train Attack

A 32-year-old Bronx man was attacked on a northbound 4 train at the Lexington Avenue and East 77th Street station June 30 at 3 a.m. Police said a man walked onto the train yelling and screaming and threw a bottle of water at the victim’s face then punched him. The Bronx man got off the train at the Lexington Avenue East 110th Street train stop, where police arrived.

Seniority Rules

A man is wanted for assaulting a coworker over an argument about seniority at the hotel where they are both employed. Police said two New Jersey men, who work at the Lowell Hotel at 28 E. 63rd St. and Madison Avenue, left work for the day at the same time, around 12 a.m., May 27. When they got to the northeast corner of East 60th Street and Madison Avenue, the men started arguing. Police said the 45-year-old man got upset and punched his 52-year-old colleague in the face. The younger man ran north on Madison Avenue.
