GREEK COMPOSER PREMIERE
The music of legendary Greek composer Mikis Theodorakis will be performed for the first time in America. Scenes from four of Theodorakis’ operas, including Medea and Antigone, will be performed on Oct. 15 as part of Cathedral School’s 60th anniversary celebration. The show starts at 8 p.m. at the school, 319 E. 74th St., between First and Second avenues. Admission is $50, $35 for students.
The Kefi Commotion
Quiet Columbus Avenue was no preparation for the frenzied commotion that greeted me inside Kefi on a recent Sunday night. At a quarter to eight, a 10-minute wait just to check in for my reservation afforded time to admire the blue-tiled maritime mosaic on the back wall, an artistic punctuation to the restaurant’s fittingly azure color scheme.
