Celebrated chef Daniel Boulud will be opening a revamped iteration of beloved Cafe Boulud on the Upper East Side.
The new restaurant will be located at 100 E. 63rd St, on the corner of Park Ave. It is slated to open some time in fall 2023.
“It’s very exciting for me,” Boulud told the New York Post’s Steve Cuozzo. “It will remain a destination for locals, for foodies and for our loyal customers.”
The original Cafe Boulud, much-loved by New Yorkers, was located on East 76th Street. It was known for its upscale French food with international influences and its distinguished clientele. However, it shuttered during the pandemic in May 2021 and then the Surrey Hotel in which it was located declared bankruptcy later that year.
With the new location, Boulud’s empire will include 12 total restaurants in the city; Cafe Boulud also has locations in Toronto, Palm Beach and the Bahamas.
