Girl, 17, Dies In Jump From UES Building
She hasn’t been identified by police
In the middle of the day on Sunday, Jan. 15, a 17-year-old girl died after jumping from a “luxury apartment building” on the Upper East Side, the New York Post reported later that afternoon.
She had jumped from the eighth floor of 122 East 82nd Street, police told the Post, and her identity has yet to be released by the NYPD. Units in the co-op building between Park And Lexington Avenues have sold for millions of dollars in recent years, according to StreetEasy. The 1912 building is described as having 34 apartments and a full-time doorman.
One neighbor told the Post: “I was coming out of my apartment and there were three ambulances on the block.” In recent years, there have been multiple other similar incidents on the street, the Post reported.
