The 19th Precinct has a new commanding officer, with Deputy Inspector Kathleen Walsh succeeding Inspector Clint McPherson, who has been transferred to the police department’s intelligence bureau.

Walsh was transferred from the 25th Precinct in East Harlem, where she had been commander since May 2016.

Police officials, including from the precinct, declined to provide further biographical information on Walsh or reasons for the change.

They said Walsh would address the precinct’s next community council meeting, scheduled for 7 p.m. Feb. 5 at the precinct, 153 East 67th Street.

McPherson was named head of the 19th in April 2016, after the precinct’s former commander, then-Deputy Inspector James Grant was placed on desk duty as part of a federal corruption investigation into the activities of two fundraisers for Mayor Bill de Blasio.
